I met him on the Dating.com website. He sent me a message giving me his mobile number and asking me to send him a whatsapp because he would like to meet me. His number was +1(659)214-9931
He told me that his name was Andrew Smith Nelson and that he was 42 years old. He was supposedly a US Marine on a base in Nigeria on a mission.
These are the first images he sent me:
On the second day of meeting him, he already asked me for money because he said that he had no food and was hungry. I told him that I did not share my data on the internet or send money to anyone I did not know.
The following days he was very sweet and loving. We talked almost every hour. He suddenly disappeared for a whole day and at 4AM he started texting me saying that some terrorists had ambushed his team and he was injured in one leg and one hand. He sent me these photos to prove it and he asked me for €268 for medicine to ease his pain. I told him I couldn't send him that money...
We kept talking for days and suddenly he asked me for money again because he was hungry and very weak because he had lost a lot of blood in the attack. I began to feel very sorry, although at the same time my instinct told me that this was not normal. And I asked for proof that he was really the person in the photos and not someone else using those photos. He was very angry that I doubted him, but he sent me this photo. At that moment I felt very happy, now I know that it is only a montage with my name.
I totally believed what that paper said and in the end I sent him €150. I feel so stupid...
As a result of that, he began to tell me that he wanted to marry me, that he was going to ask to leave the base and leave the army and come to Spain with me.
And he sent me more photos...
Then he started telling me that he needed me to send him more than €600 to apply for the fiancee form and for his commander to allow him to leave the base to come with his fiancée. I told him I couldn't send him that money. And then he started telling me that he had gotten his commander to let him off base and pay for that form when he was already here with me. But now he needed me to send him €1,234 for the plane ticket. Since I told him I couldn't send him that money, he started asking me to borrow it from a friend.
Now he only talked about the money to leave the base and come with me. I felt so pressured that I decided to tell a cousin about him. She made me open my eyes. She told me that she had seen a movie or documentary where they talked about cases similar to mine, that they were scammers who only wanted money from their victims. She told me there was a way to Google the photos he had sent me to see if they turned up anywhere. And that's how I met you.
I've felt really bad seeing how naive I've been... I hope that my experience can help other women so that the same thing doesn't happen to me.
